Vigil for Peace in Ukraine

We want to thank everyone who came to the Vigil.

Even though it was a cold windy day on March 20th,

the Vigil had a good turnout of people

with signs and wearing blue and yellow.

We had a few speakers and then 2 minutes of silence to focus on the Ukranian situation. We then sang the lines “All we are saying is give peace a chance.” Then we all walked to Terminal Street and got a lot of support from drivers passing by.

Thank you to Sheila Malcolmson MLA and Lisa Marie Barrons MP
for attending with encouraging words.

Thank you to Greg Sakaki/News Bulletin for the article and photographs in the Nanaimo Bulletin.
